"My Lover" by Ephraim Uzah

There's no freedom
Other than your cesspit
What more is sweeter
Than the dregs of your wine
What more is alarming
Than the fog of your fire
What more is so endearing
Than the kite
In your sky
And I
The author and saint of your waist
Will sink ashore
The pool of your plenty
I'll let avalanche desires pass me by
Alone
Beneath your crevice
I'll let the foam of your sweetness
Draw patterns on my lips
I cajole you
My lover
To take me into your placid city
Where the stones, rivers and forests are new!
