LET ME DREAM FOR YOU by Uzah Ephraim Oryiman
Let me dream
And see hope
In the mansion of my vision
Even if the world
Keeps retching and wheezing
Let me dream for you
Dooshima
Even if the world
Now flies with bewitching feathers
Upon which the embers of your breathe
Rust
Let me dream for you
Terpersee
Even if the world claws your youthful sky
Now sprawling blue
And your heavens
At their peak
Let me dream for you
Aondover
Even if the world
Has refused to bow before you
Pray
That leering tooth
Gnash trembling in your presence
Pray
That this feeble earth
slumbers so soon
And a new filament
May come
Let me dream for you
Ngohemba
Even if the world
Plays prank on your ontology
And you surrender too soon to its watery threats
Pray
That breathtaking truncheon
Smash the impatient nerves
Of hope
In this abattoir
Of nothingness!

ReplyDeleteNice man... This poem speaks to reality of a man conscious of his family and all the travails that befall them. So, the personae challenges the victims in the poem to dream. This because it is in dreams that one's vision gets started...
ReplyDeleteOh my God dis is awesome
