I AM By Uzah Ephraim Oryiman

I'm the new wind
Ushering you to a world
Petered out from the cliffs
Of incurable mountains

I am the tottering cricket
Whose silence
Is a wake of burning desires
Flamed from furnace of scarfing ocean

I am that aardvark
With infinite stout
Of sense and zest
Boring holes
To shelter the indefinite cravings
Of screeching literati



About The Author

Uzah Ephraim Oryiman is a graduate of English from IBB University, Lapai, Niger state. He is an aspiring writer whose interest has been in drama and poetry. His debut play "The Herb" (unpublished) has been stage by shinning star(dance and drama troupe, Lapai Niger state) and by Naseldram (IBB university drama club with three Nollywood stars present). His poems have appeared in Ebedi international magazine(2017, 2018 editions) as well as other sites and blogs. He is currently undergoing the one year compulsory National Youth Service Corp program in Kaduna, Kaduna state. He is currently working on his second play under the title of Giwa's Swing! He has a collection of poetry under manuscript with the title "Strange Quest and other poems".
