AMARYA TA

By Salihu Suleiman

 In silence, I prayed
Majestic steps towards her I made
With her Kwalliya and Kayan Ado
By the bed side she sat
With a blue veil she
Fetooned her face in shyness

Slowly, Salam I said
And her veiled face I unveiled
Upon hearing her melodious voice
Calling me Ango Na
My heart flounced out of my chest in elation
In reply to her call, I roost my lips
On her forehead

Could she be the goddess of beauty
I craved to marry?
My mind was clothed in deep thought

And then, there was riot in my blood stream
They frost in fear of what she brought in her
Oily arsenal of ecstasy

Because,
Her smile sparks streak of light
And brightens my bleak path
Her lush candy tanks stand straight
Like a soldier in salute

That night, the drums beat in slow rhythm
So I can feel her swaying gait
Seeing her glittering waist beads
Round her waist, intoxicate my memory

The magnetic force of her coquet
Pulled me out of fear
She caress me with her soft touch
Until I fall asleep
